For Playfair’s the awards ceremony in Glasgow was a family affair, with head chef Duncan McLachlan, his sister and director of marketing Rachel McLachlan (both pictured) and their parents Roy and Eliza – who own the business – all attending the event.
Playfair’s restaurant and steakhouse in St Andrews has been named as a finalist in the Best Restaurant in the North-east Region category at the annual Food Awards Scotland.
Now in its second year, it celebrates the best in the Scottish food sector.
Half-hidden under the Ardgowan Hotel and sited just a couple of hundred yards from the world-famous Old Course is one of St Andrews’ best kept secrets — Playfair’s Restaurant and Steakhouse.
