RNLI Charity Evening
Here at Playfair’s Restaurant, we are not just passionate about supporting local businesses, but also supporting local charities as well, whenever we can. This month, for the second year in a row, Playfair’s will be hosting a charity evening in support of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, or RNLI.
About the RNLI
The RNLI provides on-call, 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, and are committed to saving lives at sea. They have a modern fleet of lifeboats always ready to go to the rescue from over 230 lifeboat stations, as well as lifeguard services on over 200 popular beaches around the UK and Ireland. The organisation itself depends on a network of more than 31,000 volunteers, most of which are unpaid. Since the charity’s foundation in 1824, their lifeboat crews, lifeguards and flood rescue teams have saved over 140,000 lives! Just in 2015 alone, their lifeboats rescued 7,973 people and saved 348 lives!
Because they are a charity organisation they are supported completely by donations from the public. And that’s where we come in! At the end of this month, on the 27th of November, Playfair’s will be donating 50% of the proceeds from food and bar sales for that night to the RNLI.
About the evening
We’re doing things a bit differently than we would on a normal night – we’re only taking bookings for this charity evening direct through the hotel or restaurant. Please call us at 01334 472970 to book in, or you can email at email@example.com!
Our chefs have also put together a fantastic set menu for this evening, which you can view here. As we’re expecting to be quite busy, we’re asking each booking to provide us with a pre-order for their meal by the 24th of November.
We’re also taking a £5.00 for every booking to secure the table – this will be deducted from your final bill on the night.
Please contact us if you’d like to make a booking, or if you have any questions. We hope you will help us support this great charity – and have an amazing meal while you do!
